Tortuga Island & Snorkeling From Montezuma Or Santa Teresa
This trip begins with a short tour along the coast of the Nicoya Peninsula making a short stop at the Cocalito Waterfall to share with our clients important information about the Nicoya Peninsula, places of importance and activities to do in the area.
The Journey from Montezuma to Tortuga Island takes about 45 minutes, once we arrive we proceed to start snorkeling from 10:30am to 12 am, 1 hour and a half approximately in two different points, you will be informed about the marine species of the area that we can find before getting into the water, you will hydrate with fruits between points you will also be given the option to buy oysters and scalops so it is recommended to always carry some of cash.
Visitors to Isla Tortuga can engage in a variety of activities including snorkeling, Kayaking, beach volleyball, and hiking. The island is surrounded by vibrant coral reefs, making it an excellent spot for underwater exploration and marine wildlife encounters.
Scuba Diving: To do scuba diving you need to bring with you the dive license, as soon we arrive on the Island the diving club boat will come to pick you up, for the one immersion we advise this due the tour time. The visibility average is between 2 and 7 meters. What have on these waters is nice volcanic rock formations, a big school of fish, rays, morays, white tip sharks. We provide all the scuba equipment, and of course a Dive Master or an Instructor as a guide, we just need to know your wetsuit size.
Discovery Diving: If you are not certificated you can join us on our diving tour, doing a discovery, which is the beginning of diving, as soon we get to the island you will take another boat for that. Starting with exercises on calm water on the beach no deeper than 2 meters, to get used to the equipment, and after a professional dive no deeper than 7 meters, always with a Dive Master or the instructor.

Intinerary
07:30 am – Pick-up in Santa Teresa Or Mal Pais
- Guests will be picked up at the meeting point in Santa Teresa or Mal Pais by designated transport.
- Drive to Montezuma (approximately 45 minutes).
08:45 a.m. – Meeting at the Montezuma meeting point
- Participants should gather at the designated meeting point in Montezuma at 8:45 a.m. for check-in.
09:00 a.m. – Departure by boat to Isla Tortuga
- The boat departs from Montezuma at 9:00 a.m.
- Enjoy a 45-minute boat ride along the coast, admiring the scenery and the crystal-clear waters of the Pacific.
10:00 a.m. – Snorkeling at Isla Tortuga
- Guided snorkeling activity for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- Discover marine life, including tropical fish, rays, and possibly some sea turtles.
- A snack of fruits, water, juices, sodas, and beers is provided.
12:00 p.m. – Lunch
- Lunch served on the beach with options of chicken, fish, or vegetarian menu.
- Time to relax and enjoy the meal with a view of the sea.
01:30 p.m. – Optional activities and free time
- Opportunity for optional activities such as beach volleyball, hiking, or simply relaxing in the sun.
- Free time to enjoy the beach and the natural surroundings.
03:00 p.m. – Departure from Isla Tortuga
- Board the boat for the return trip.
- Enjoy the 45-minute boat ride back to Montezuma.
03:45 p.m. – Arrival in Montezuma
- Disembark in Montezuma.
03:45 p.m. – Land Transport from Montezuma
- Land transport from Montezuma to Santa Teresa.
- Arrival in Santa Teresa or Mail Pais at 4:30pm.

Isla tortuga es una atracción turística pero vale la pena hacerla. De ida a la isla pudimos ver las tortugas y los delfines! El lugar de snorkelig es adapto a cualquier persona con experiencia en la natación. El crew siempre está atento y disponible. La playa es hermosa y uno puede hacer actividad a parte a pagamento por lo tanto yo recomendaría llevar un poco de efectivo por si no sirve la tarjeta. La comida es deliciosa y durante el almuerzo pudimos ver los cerdos de monte. Seguramente lo haría de nuevo
